The smell of disinfectant was noticeable this afternoon but the pint of Otter was very tasty albeit slightly cold. Tribute also available. The welcome was neutral.

Don't judge a book by its cover! Looks lovely on the outside - shame the staff have an attitude problem. We arrived with 2 kids and were immediately made to feel unwelcome. The locals in the pub were very friendly and when one offered us his seats I was abruptly told by the miserable individual behind the bar that we were not 'allowed' sit there. This is something I have never experienced before.

We ordered food and when we enquired after 40 minutes as to when we would get it we were again made to feel insolent for asking! Is it unfair to ask after we have bought drinks and paid for food?! Food is rubbish by the way.

Overall a nice looking place, but avoid at all costs if you value a warm welcome. Seems to me they live off tourists who visit just the once and couldn't care less whether you enjoy being there or not as long as they have your hard earned cash.

Used to always try to get to the Kings by 8 o'clock, rarely left before 11. Great in the 70's still just as good I hope.

Lovely welcoming pub. Great range of beer and jolly good food. Friendly staff and locals. Nice BB letting rooms and large cooked breakfast
