Rather unexpected find. Good food and very reasonable beer, both at a good price

If it has closed, that's sad, it used to be a good bar billiards venue, so fond memories. Mind you, I'm going back thirty years !

Passed this place early the other morning for the first time in about a year and my god what a run down dump it now looks from the outside, smashed down wall, two foot weeds everywhere, such a shame as it used to look so welcoming from the road. Mind you as I say its been about a year since I last saw it and maybe its now derilect and awaiting demolition, surely this must be the case as I cant imagine Ember Inns allowing this once smart pub to do business with the frontage looking like a war zone. Is it now closed up, can somebody please enlighten me...Many Thanks

A typical chain pub - lost it's atmosphere (I used to be a regular here about 5 years ago when I was working at NU)

Food not up to much, typically microwaved to heat.....not a traditional pub by any stretch of the imagination

Popped in here for the usual drink which happens to be sherry and diet coke, met up with the west sussex ramblers association (we usually meet at another pub) First impressions weren't too good there was a cat and a parrot making a horrendous racket, we asked the landlord if he could sort his pets out but he didn't know who they belonged to. So here we were trying to have a meeting and there was a parrot sqwauking and a cat miaowing, never mind I thought so I ordered some food I decided on the ribs with jacket potato and coleslaw, I think there might of been some meat on before it was cooked all I got served was a plate of bones. The landlord looked like she had been beaten up by her husband the night before.
Despite all of this I would return.
