Mmmmm ....how things change, they still have superb staff on the bar, interesting and regularly changing menus that appear to suit most tastes and pockets, some of the best kept beer to be found locally (prices start at £1.99 a pint for IPA) and a lovely garden with decent furniture (needs its grass cut though) However, though we think their Grill Night is very good, their Curry Night is in need of some serious attention - starting with the recipes ! It was sharp in flavour - almost bitter. They also had no mango chutney ! Perhaps, just perhaps, curry on their menu is a step too far and should be left to those who understand spice mixes and accompanying chutneys. Put another way, are curry dishes at this level 'ambition beyond capability' for a chef who may not be fully trained in the fine balances that exist in the mixing of herbs and spices ? We will continue to go to the Gurkha restaurant for such dishes until someone puts up another review to the contrary. 5/10 Biker - 25 Apr 2008 08:12
Firtst impression not good. All the menus were covered in food. Ordered a steak. Rare. Came up well done. Ordered another steak.Rare. Came up medium. All other food could have come from Brakes Brothers value section. Unimpressive. Maybe they should employ some cleaners, and also train the staff in the kitchen. Beer was OK - and that was the only good thing I could say. HopMan1 - 15 Apr 2008 13:07
Always liked the North star pub food is standard fair but decent enough , good beers and has staropramen on tap which is a bonus - would have been my local when i lived in Worthing. zamora250 - 9 May 2007 17:35
