| Friendly welcome for 2 thirsty strangers from staff and regulars, wish we had a pub like this at home. At another pub in Midhurst had no-one behind the bar and while we idly waited a dog threw up on th floor, so we left and found this gem instead. c_and_j - 17 Aug 2011 11:22 |

| Nice little pub, though yo uhave to park in the main town car park a few streets away. Very friendly, very busy, andyet the landlord always seemsto have time to talk to locals and strangers alike. Knows his beer, and serves a most quaffable pint! Used to be much lamented King and Barnes of Horsham, but isevery bit as good now! Traditional pub food and sandwiches also worth investigating, though not particularly cheap! | From what I remember about New Years Eve, I came here with my girlfriend to see in 2007 around 11ish. Rubbish, despite the merits described in my previous post. A complete disaster was only averted by the TV screens being switched on to show the impressive fireworks display in Central London. The so called "disco" was dark, dull and deplorable. There was more atmosphere at a Welcome Break service station than in here. Awful. The decision to have a ticket only policy - unlike the nearby Swan and Crown - was as clueless as the West Ham performance away at Reading on New Years Day.
