user reviews of Pier Hotel, Ilfracombe

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Evidently modernised recently with a shabby chic atmosphere, this could have been a pretentious place but in fact was perfectly okay, with friendly service. The local Wizard White Witch at 4%ish, was moreish. I wouldn't have minded if they had changed the "music" to something more traditional although they did manage to educate me by playing "Delgadito"!

went in April hoping to try some of wizards brews but unfortunately they didn't have any ????
i can't remember what i did have but the place was nice enough, we didn't go back for the rest of the week so it didn't really leave any impression

Tap Bar for the local Wizard Brewery, helpful & friendly barstaff, smoking area to the rear; beers indulged in were Lundy's Gold [very nice] & Druid's Fluid, nice dark ale @ 5.0% abv.

Popped in for lunch last week. Had a sarnie and a salad. Both nice. Nice seating area out the back. Bit of a suntrap. 3 beers from the Wizard brewery (it's their brewpub). Lundy Gold (4.1%) was very nice. Went back later for few more beers. Met the owner who gave me samples of the other 2 beers which were both nice. Dog friendly pub.

A good location for this pub right down on the harbour and near the imfamous "Verity".
A pleasant layout inside and always a good selection of real ale.
Friendly locals as well.
