Revisited 26 Jan, far better than expected. 4 real ales in perfect condition - yes, I tried them all ! Food, we had an evening meal and it was superb. (They are also noticeably proud of getting an ex military chef). Amenities, heated smokers area with a massive television showing just about anything you can (legally and morally) imagine. Custom, mixed, all age groups, well behaved and friendly. Prices, now very competitive. Overall, marvelous improvements compared to our first visit. ps, I've found the car park ! 8/10

Parking a little awkward? - it has a car park! plus you can park in Lavington road just round the corner. Big open pub - always feels empty but decent enough for a weekday pint or two and a game of pool.

Having visited this pub only once recently, I feel an initial score of 8.5 is a little ambitious.

The pub is located on a fairly busy X roads which makes parking a little awkward to say the least.

Inside is first class by comparative standards locally for decoration, furniture and facilities.

Their range of beers and house wine can only be described as outstanding but prices are a little high for the area - £2:35 for a pint of Gales ordinary Bitter.

The young South African chap who served me was polite, knowledgable and friendly. A pleasant surprise nowadays!

However, on a negative point, there was - to put it mildly - some strange dealings in what appeared to be videos occurring on the next table and some bad language nearby. So therefore I would suggest it's a pub for the young.
