Walked up from town to have a look at this place. It seemed a bit strange thet the front half of the pub was empty and the back quite busy. Seemed friendly enough and the Pedigree was passable. HOBGOBLIN62 - 23 Feb 2012 17:11
Just moved into the area and checked BITE and thought this might be a good candidate for my local. After getting the general impression that it was an awful lot of trouble for them bother to serve me a pint and a half I was disappointed with both the Tribute and Landlord neither of which seemed well kept. Went back to try a London Pride and another Landlord (giving it a second chance) and some pork scratchings and then had to argue to get the brand of scratchings that I wanted because the wanted to give me "the older ones". And the same problem with the beer. Dont think I'll be bothering going back and will look for a "local" in Stafford centre. 3/10 IkeySol - 28 Nov 2011 17:50
Had the misfortune to breakdwon on the M6 and by chance landed at tbis pub. What a splendid little pub. Clean, tidy, freindly staff, very good beer and food. Only negative was the landlady had a face like a slapped arse. Persune someone had annoyed her as all other staff including the landlord were excellent. lachie_mhor - 10 Jul 2011 10:13
Not good when we visited. The regulars gave the impression that we were not at all welcome in their pub and two of the beers were decidedly tired. Didn't try any others and moved rapidly on to much better pubs in the area. arkman43 - 15 May 2011 21:31
| A bit of a trek (by foot) from the station but worth it I reckon. Again I found many 'Cambridge-standard' beers as standards as regulars in here - London Pride, Black Sheep, Pedigree, Tribute and Tiger. All good ales but I wanted something more unusual. I had a pint of Dartmoor Best Bitter which was fine. I did want a couple at that place but the 'familiar' nature of the standard ales made me move on sooner than I'd wanted.
