Well, tyke and his invisible mates seem to have vanished! Good luck for 2012 in whatever you decide to do (or not to do) with the Oak. mandraker - 1 Jan 2012 11:45
Well said - and the best of luck for the future; the 'action group' should mind its own business and melt into the fog...... tempest - 13 Dec 2011 10:27
Four months ago I bought the Royal Oak, Motcombe. From the very beginning I made it very clear to everyone in the village , the parish councillors and the pub action group that it was our wish to open the Royal oak but The Royal Oak has no commercial equipment remaining, is very run down, none compliant for public access and the buildings will take time to repair and being a commercial building we can't do any repairs until we have planning approval. Despite knowing this information the pub Action group is now as you see campaigning against me they say it’s because I’m not open -As one the head of the action groups wife's a parish councillor he knows we can't open . I would request that the pub action group considers:- The action group themselves (at this point) could cause the permanent closer of the Royal oak as people tell us they won't be coming to us with this negative behaviour in a pub and if the action group say they are the only ones that want and use this pub. Why should i have to serve them in the Royal oak in the future if they aggressively harasses, bullies and campaigns against me? I’ve have learnt the hard way this lack of respect always means you have people smashing up the bar. I think starting such a campaign as I have be very open about my intentions and only owned the pub for 4 months speaks for itself. royaloakmotcombe - 13 Dec 2011 10:00
It would appear that the new owners have no intention of reopening the pub. It looks like they are just going to live in the building and hope people lose interest in saving the pub. the fight continues, watch this space...... dorsettyke - 25 Nov 2011 09:27
