user reviews of Three Tuns, Penryn

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I've not been here in the evening, only on a couple of lunchtime visits, but it was pretty dead of both those occasions.

just read the reviews o.k so it has gone down hill abit, but not drinking in there for a while new ownership is now in there and i think the only way is up. The beer is better and the atmosphere is alot better, the new owners are more welcoming and it looks alot more cleaner i hope they do well and bring it back to how it used to be.REMEMBER if you know the past of this pub it was once one of the most
popular drinking pubs in Penryn, be like me give it another chance hopefully it's on the change.

I agree with nursetursham and can confirm as an ex res. that this establishment has always been the same no matter how much the locals say it is great. It is the most unwelcoming pub in the land and I am glad I never have to step foot in there ever again.

In defense of this pub i have been in several times i think nursetursham must be part of the Seven Stars(see the comments there) also have a look at the Cross Keys review i think you will see where i am coming from

This is the sort of establishment that requires patrons to wipe their feet on the way out. It is littered with dubious characters and you are more likely to be greeted with "want a fight" then "what can I get you?". A cheap clip joint for picking up tarts and not the sort of place to endulge in intelligent conversation. A haven for C.H.A.V.S and like-minded cohorts who regularly hold competitions to see who can consume the most vats of ale/wine per person. The beer is nondescript and not terribly well kept. A place to be avoided unless you feel suicidal and want to end it all quickly!!!!!
