| Dropped by recently for pint of IPA. Used to live in Rowledge and when this place was run by Von it was quirky but had identity. Now the outside is looking shabby and the inside seems to have been redesigned by a 2 year-old. Given the location (expensive village!) you would expect something better. getmeonein - 19 Apr 2011 17:37 |
| Have been told about this lovely village pub on several occassions, and finally made it there this week. Got a warm welcome from the bar staff, and the landlady came to speak to us between starter and main course. The fish pie was fantastic, as was the home made soup. The customers were really friendly too, its not often people bother to chat to strangers at the bar these days. Ended up sitting on the sofa in front of a real open fire to finish our drinks, and stayed for well over an hour longer than planned because it was so chilled out. Also a dog friendly pub (in the bar area only). I'm sure we'll find an excuse to go back soon....now I know its not too long a walk from Farnham, I might just use getting fit as that excuse!!!!!!!!!! | This pub is super! Great for going around the woods then a lovely pub lunch with a nice cool beer after. Nice to see happy staff rather than the grumpy staff that get down the road!!! anonymous - 7 Sep 2007 07:04 |
| This is a Pub! Go there for a drink and you will enjoy every drop. Go there for a meal and you wont leave hungry. Go there alone or with friends it wont matter. Have heard that the Landlady has been there for over 25 years.....hats off to her anonymous - 27 Sep 2006 22:53 |
