Situated on the main road through Chapel Allerton in what used to be the Mexborough Arms. At the present time this is our most regular visited pub. The best Wetherspoon’s establishment we have experienced over the years. A very ethnically mixed clientele, but then it is situated in what used to be the most ethnically mixed area of Leeds until the rest of the city caught up. Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere, the staff here clamp down heavily on any rowdy or aggressive behaviour. Plenty of guest ales, as you would expect from a Wetherspoon’s pub. At the time of this visit guest ales are priced £1.69 and Carling lager is £1.89. A popular eatery with a large dining and family area.

This pub can be reached from Leeds city centre by the No’s 2, 3, 3A & 46 busses travelling through Chapeltown.

My favourite pub! People may think that if this is true then I'm easily pleased, but I'm not! Show me any other pub in Leeds where you can easily bag a table with a few mates on a Friday or Saturday night, there's no music, the drinks are dirt cheap, the food is reasonable, the staff are friendly and efficient, and the clientele are a friendly mix of different races, ages and backgrounds - if you can, I'll buy you a pint.

This pub used to be called The Mexborough and was a bit of a dive. Now it's a Wetherspoons, and is much nicer
