In here last Saturday and a bit posh like most Hotel bars but lacking in atmosphere. 3 hand pulls for GK IPA & Old Speckeled Hen (£3.10pp) and a house beer. bjbrummiejohn - 29 Dec 2011 13:04
Stayed here over the weekend. Good accomodation and excellent service from the restaurant. Girl behind the bar though frowned as if she had bet her mortgage on Ricky Hatton winning on Saturday night. Some interesting local characters frequented the bar early Saturday evening as well as guy in drag who I assume was on his stag weekend. Beer ;GK IPA, Old Speckled Hen plus own brew were OK, but not fantastic. tangerineman - 4 May 2009 18:13
Stayed for 2 nights BB. Accommodation OK but whole place could do with refreshing. That said, the service and friendly attention was without fault. Food very good - excellent value - including dinner menu. Usual GK beers swell kept and served. southfields - 23 Mar 2009 18:02
Luncheon today. Beer battered cod & Scampi. Both so fresh they tried to leap from the plate. Service from a charming young lady who could string words together in coherent sentences. Sadly, due to being in the car, unable to sample the beer. Perhaps next time. almost_an_old_git - 2 Mar 2009 15:30
I appreciate all the previous comments, but you are all missing what this pub is best for. You can sit outside on a hot day, soak up the rays and enjoy a nice cool pint of lager or cider. There is an uninterupted view of the sea, loads of top totty walking by and when you need to cool down you can walk straight into the sea. If this is the pub's only redeeming factor, it's worth a visit just for that. flagship - 16 Apr 2008 14:43
