Booked two nights stay here with some American friends cos we want to show them a traditional English pub. What a shock. Dirty beds, torn towels, dirty carpets, mouldy showers, now where to hang our clothes. The smell was unbearable. It turned out to be a left over take-away in a drawer.Needless to say we didnt stay but luckly found a really nice B&B just round the corner which was so different it was unbeleivable. We saw the worst and the best that Edwinstowe had to offer

Yes, I agree with previous comments. Don't go to this pub and definately don't stay there. We booked for three nights. The room was smelly with a stained carpet, cracked toilet seat and three old toilet seats stored in the wardrobe. The linen/towels were not changed throughout our stay. The hard, dried up powdered milk was a turnoff and none of the sachets of coffee/tea were replaced. The pub was advertised outside as "hot food throughout the day" but no food whatsoever was available (apart from Sunday lunch) and this was very disappointing. The landlady although pleasant was extremely out of her depth and not coping and so obviously reluctant to serve us breakfast on the third day - that although we had paid for B&B - we left, lost money, and ate at a service station on the way home. This accommodation spoilt our visit to Sherwood Forest - which was a 50th birthday treat for my husband. We will definately research more thoroughly in the future. We were extremely dissatisfied.

The pub itself appears ok from the outside and was very busy inside,so the beer must be good.Do not stay there in the rooms. They do B&B.It cost £40 for a double room.I have not seen anything that bad before,it was horrible.Everything was old outdated and filthy. There was mould all over the ceiling in the shower and stains all over the carpet.Nasty.The other room that my brother and sister in law had was also filthy and the bed was unbelievable, old and what you could see of the bedbase was really stained and horrible. We lost our money and left to find somewhere else, would rather sleep in the car
