I have been going to this pub for years and have never had any problem with the taste of their ales (the pub does have the casque mark so there shouldn't be). The latest manager is fantastic, really friendly and attentive to the customers. This is a good pub which is family friendly and in my experience some of the members of staff have gone above and beyond the point of duty to help, getting water for my dog, helping my daughter when she was stung by a wasp and moving us to a table in the restraunt side instead of being sat in the pub side as my daughter was struggling to sit on the high rise benches are just a few examples. The food is good quality and good value for money, it is the only pub in the area which i am compelled to go back to time and time again.

Bloody Awful!!! First time I've been back in here in 20 years. Had a pint of sour IPA, which when questioned after 1 mouthful, the Barmaid took umbridge. Grudgingly swapped it for a pint of Abbot, which was also undrinkable; they very clearly hadn't cleaned any of the lines. Settled for a J2O in the end, as it seemed the safest bet. The other girl behind the bar took absolutely no notice of this incident, or the 3 customers that were waiting whilst I was trying to get this sorted, and carried on playing with her Netbook and updating her Facebook Profile. This is one I would happily see go to the wall, and it's "staff" for that matter. Pub? You have GOT to be joking....0/10!!

"NEVER MIND" this used to be a nice pub but the staff are rude & make you feel like you are doing them a favour by being there. If you want to have a good meal and a warm friendly atmosphere go to the beech tree.

On localyyokaly's comment. I've had a meal here several times recently and never seen any trouble.
