We stumbled across the pub whilst missing a tuning to the one that we were loking for!
I am glad that we did.
Very good landlord keeping two Waddies ales and a guest which was from Castle Rock brewery called Hemlock, very tasty.
The food was excellent, the Steak and Ale pie was substantial and I struggled to finish it. However I did but no room for pubs. Next time!
Try this one out, you won't be disappointed.

Picturesque village pub with caravan parking facilities, beer garden and great views of the Wiltshire downs. Well managed Wadworth ales, some of the best I have tried in the area. Landlord very friendly and accommodating, so to are the attentive and polite waitresses and bar staff. Food very good, I can highly recommend the homemade Madras curry.

Good food in a good local without it being a gastro pub - almost unheard of!
Expensive and has theme evening which let it down

This is a great little pub with great food and great beer. Also the landlord is a good laugh,in fact all the staff are very friendly and will make you welcome. As I ride 9.5 miles each way on a bike to get there I think that says it all.Give it a try,you won't be sorry.Cheers.

Dropped in for a Sunday lunch and the foog was good and location excellent BUT they serve the most expensive beer in the area... £3.16p for 6X which is the local beer. Is this really necessary?
