This is actually one of the better Spoons I've been in. Beer is always well kept though I do wish they wouldn't keep on pushing Bays ales which I quite dreadful. There are some comfy booths on the left hand side of the pub but you have to be very lucky to nab one! Mr Bateman's comments are a bit harsh but Paignton does suffer from a lack of decent pubs. This one, sadly, is the best. waldonent - 6 Dec 2010 17:28
We chose to drink in this Spoons, as Paignton is such an absolute dump, that we were too scared to enter any of the other ghastly looking pubs. It was clean and had good service and with Thatchers Gold Cider for £2.55 a pint, you could do a lot worse ... especially in this Seaside Town that they forgot to shut down. Thank God we were only staying for one night. Pat_Bateman - 18 Nov 2010 10:08
We had just enough time for a couple of beers and were glad to find this Wetherspoons as everything else in Paignton looked "uninviting". Beer was very good and the staff very friendly and helpful. I had O'Hanlons and Bays both of which were in good nick. Worthy of its current entry in the Good Beer Guide. mcroyal - 13 Aug 2010 13:16
