Our experiences have obviously been very different to the last 2 reviews. We've been to The Sussex Potter 5 or 6 times in the last year, and have been very satisfied with the service, the food and the drinks. Yes it's a steak house - like it says on the label. However, we reckon they serve the best steaks for many miles around. They also have plenty of other main dishes if you don't fancy a piece of dead steer. Their day time fixed price menu is good value too - 8 oz rump steak for 8.95 & deserts at 2. Yes, the beers are limited but we couldn't fault the Harveys.

Overpriced and dated seventies style steak house. Service offhand and beer often 'off'.

An over priced Steak House. More atmosphere on the Moon.

Now a Miller & Carter steakhouse and bar. Lunched there today with friends and we all ate well. There is a fixed price menu which is good value. The plus for me the three ales included Sharp's Doombar (others Pride and Harveys). Better than average wine selection. Worth a visit and will go back.

Does any one know whats happening to the Potter? Heard it's being refurbished and it's not going to be a Beefeater anymore!!
