We visited this Hungry Horse, primarily family eating pub on Easter Saturday afternoon during a narrowboat cruise on the Oxford Canal. The staff, although busy, were very friendly and efficient, especially the young man who looks as though he works out a lot!
There were 3 real ales on - Greene King Abbott, Old Speckled Hen and Greene King IPA. The Old Speckled Hen was very good and a very reasonable £2-89 a pint.
We didn't have a meal ourselves but the menu was typical for pubs of this type and reasonably priced. The dessert display was attracting a lot of attention!
The loos were warm, clean and functional.
All in all not a bad place to shelter from a hail storm!

I have visited this pub since the new manager took over the food was awfull the staff were rude to busy standing talking to each other. When i asked to see the manager i was told it was her day of i've been back several times to see her but she is always on a day of i wish i could do that where i work maybe i should change my job and apply to be the manager at this pub i'm sure i could do a better job.

I WENT TO THIS PUB WITH MY 2 YOUNG CHILDREN FOR A MEAL, THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY AND THE MEALS VERY REASONABLY PRICED WLD BE NICE TO SEE A DAIRY FREE /MENU FOR PEOPLE WITH INTOLERENCES, BUT ALL SAID YOU GET ALOT FOR YOUR MONEY AND TASTED GREAT, I THINK ALSO ITS A REAL SHAME THEY DID AWAY WITH THE BALL AREA FOR THE LITTLIES AS MY 3 OLDER CHILDREN USED TO LOVE THIS AND MY 1 YEAR OLD SON CERTAINLY WOULD, IT WOULD RELIEVE THEIR BOREDOM 2 AS ITS HARD TO KEEP THEM AMUSED WHILST WAITING FOR MEALS,

Food is pretty dire but cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. Atmosphere OK and great to be by the canal.

Absolutely awful Hungry Horse chain pub and a major disappointment in such a lovely old building. No real ales available and the pub was full of clinically obese bloaters and their equally unhealthy offspring gorging themselves on the 2 for 1 meal deals.Attractive bar maids can in no way make up for this apology for a pub.Avoid.
