user reviews of White House, Roundhay

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Leeds Pale Ale was OK, 2 other cask beers available. This is very much aimed at upmarket diners, seemed to be doing a good trade.

Please note the date of this review- This place has gone downhill dramatically over the last 14 months. The previously fantastic manager has been replaced with someone who does not care so much for their customers and the atmosphere has changed from once classic country pub to decidedly down market with the clientel changing as a result. Have witnessed food being sent back on several occasions, quality has gone down and prices up. Have personally given this pub a wide berth for some time now and the comments I hear from people using it ( last one on fri 15/08/08 ) are not good. Avoid at all costs.

Lovely building and pleasant enough interior. Food is reasonable, if a touch pricey. Ale is well kept. Tends to be overrun at the weekend with families who insist on bringing screaming children. Lacking in atmosphere.

I've eaten here twice since Christmas and have enjoyed delicious food both times. It's very spacious, relaxed, well lit and has a good selection of beers and wines on. Huge choice of food on the menu - build in extra time for choosing!
