Great location. Four casks including Piddle Forest Bitter sold as the house beer. Pub menu, not too pricy. Service varies. Some staff are rude, others are friendly and helpful.

Good beer from the Piddle brewery but bar staff service was erratic. Attitude when trying to book a table in the bar area was downright rude when told we cn book a table and then told we couldn't 'cos it was school holiday time. Also heard someone ask for the all day breakfast only to be told they couldn't have it cos' they were too busy. Decided against eating there.

This deserves much better than its "4.4/10" rating. The beer is good, with a fairly good range and they give 10% discount to card-carrying CAMRA members. The food portions are enormous and are both good and good value. (And the loos were spotless.) It looks out over the Old Harbour with an excellent view. I feel that a 7/10 is a more accurate rating.

decent little pub set in brilliant location, decent choice of beers at reasonable prices , perfect for daytime pint and bite to eat(didnt eat myself but food looked decent and good prices)

Ever ready to grab a bargain, could not resist the come on of "2 meals for 12." From outside, looked welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised by the cordial welcome from the bar staff, the excellent beers, keen prices and excellent standard of cuisine. Reading other reviews it looks as if someone has grabbed it and shaken away the rubbish. Went in to eat twice, each time the standard was spot on. Tom Brown's was on at 3.00, and went down nicely. Foodwise, the menu offers a slightly more adventurous slant on pub grub, and the portions are good value.
