Good beer from the Piddle brewery but bar staff service was erratic. Attitude when trying to book a table in the bar area was downright rude when told we cn book a table and then told we couldn't 'cos it was school holiday time. Also heard someone ask for the all day breakfast only to be told they couldn't have it cos' they were too busy. Decided against eating there.

This deserves much better than its "4.4/10" rating. The beer is good, with a fairly good range and they give 10% discount to card-carrying CAMRA members. The food portions are enormous and are both good and good value. (And the loos were spotless.) It looks out over the Old Harbour with an excellent view. I feel that a 7/10 is a more accurate rating.

Ever ready to grab a bargain, could not resist the come on of "2 meals for £12." From outside, looked welcoming, and we were pleasantly surprised by the cordial welcome from the bar staff, the excellent beers, keen prices and excellent standard of cuisine. Reading other reviews it looks as if someone has grabbed it and shaken away the rubbish. Went in to eat twice, each time the standard was spot on. Tom Brown's was on at £3.00, and went down nicely. Foodwise, the menu offers a slightly more adventurous slant on pub grub, and the portions are good value.

I'd certainly agree that this is more an eating than a drinking pub but it did have 4 beers on offer yesterday - GK IPA, Reverend James, Dorset Tom Brown's and Doombar. The Tom Brown's was fine and only £3.
An interesting and not over priced menu had quite a feew different "pub" meals on offer.
The youngish bar staff were pretty good even though the place was fairly busy at lunchtime. I'd frop in again if in the area.
