| Under the new management, this pub is growing. The quality of the beer is excellent, as is the food on offer. You'll need to get there early on a Sunday, as the roast buffet is so popular that there isn't a seat to be had between 12 and 2.30. The staff are ALL friendly, and bar snacks consisting of chicken wings samosas etc. are put out on weekdays around supper time. A nice smokers area has been constructed at the rear (for those who do), which means nobody has to run the gauntlet outside the front when entering (for those who don't). Complimentary newspapers on offer daily. 2 fruit machines, no quiz machines, no jukebox, no pool table. Discreet background music. Live music on some Saturdays, and a weekly Quiz night with free snacks. Note that Sky has been removed from this pub since the refit, but there is one plasma offering freeview. All in all, a friendly, clean and quite cosy pub with a nice feel. Give it a try - you may well like it! jim255 - 6 Oct 2007 09:50 |
| My wife and I popped in for lunch with our baby a few days after the smoking ban started. It looks great inside with recent refit and very family-friendly with new high chairs. The lady behind the bar even came out with a toy for our son which was nice. Very pleasant, nice beer, excellent food and not overly expensive. Very impressed overall compared to before and happy to recommend! roobarb - 8 Jul 2007 20:07 |
