I'm not a regular pub goer but when I do I make this top of my list. You miss all the kids in town and people are always friendly in here, always good debates going on in a freindly way. Great local

chav-free environment worth the walk out of the town centre - a booza for the over 50's and retirement set, but also a nice spot for a quiet beer with the girlfriend

the manager is a legend, always good for a laugh, FANTASTICally well kept beer - you'd be hard pressed to find a nicer lager or Guinness, and the ales are A1
Good honest home-cooked food - nice spot for a Sunday roast.

The tables out front are a bit dicey for sitting outside, but it's the best place for smokers IMHO ;o)

worth a regular visit...

Good traditional local pub if you're looking for a quiet drink. Decent beer and very reasonably priced food menu. Dogs welcome.
