Excellent. I honesty stayed away from this place until about 2 years ago as it looked a little commercial. But it doesn't get better than this. Staff are friendly albeit odd and the food is A1.

I am slowly becoming a local...

Disappointed last week when we made the trip up only to find that the place had closed for a refurbishment. However our return trip yesterday showed it was worth the wait. The place looks much better and it seems there is a new management team. Food good, fairly quick and the only disappointment was that The Blundell Ale had sold out. The alternative Flat Cap was good though.

This beautiful pub has gone from bad to worse, we had looked forward to the swing singer for a couple of months, arranged a taxi to get there early only to realise that all of the empty tables where reserved, I have been going to this pub for years and was under the impression they did not reserve, pity it did not state this on the advert. This is a pub not a restaurant and tables should not be reserved, but on a first come first served basis surely! The food is pretty diabolical, but they will continue serving it as it is packed to the rafters most weekend. Wish someone would turn it into a gourmet pub with some decent dishes, instead of the crap it churns out, but wont hold my breath.

I went there for my lunch last monday with my girlfriend. We ordered then sat down only to wait 30 minutes for a cold and soggy garlic bread. We then waited an other 30 mins for the scampy and chips. This was a real shame the chips where rock hard the scampy tasted like it had been stood for a long time and the tarter sauce had a skin on it. He then had a desert that came with out a spoon and the waitress never came back. So I went to the bar ask for one, which the bar women said she would send one over .The spoon never came so we walked out. This is the worst pub Iv been to in a long while.Don't ever go here

Where should I begin ;-) 14 of us went for a meal at the Blundell Arms on 6th Feb, my friend who had booked it was advised to pre-order the food so we wouldnt have to wait for the food, which he did on the previous day via email. The first experience we had when arriving was to be greeted my a very miserable lady (who we later found out was the manageress), she informed us we couldnt use the two for one vouchers because we had pre-ordered (as they had suggested) !!! Then we had to wait about an hour for our PRE-ORDERED starters to arrive, then another long wait for our PRE-ORDERED main meal to arrive, this was after we had asked for the Manager who just stood and nodded that he agreed we had waited a long time. Finally the food arrived, the chips werent cooked properly, but the best was the "half a duck" my friend ordered (the birthday girl) it was in-fact a quarter duck and quarter chicken stuck together. The puddings was another fiasco my chocolate fudge cake was stale, we were told the crumble was apple, when they arrived two were apple and one was rhubarb. I certainly wont be rushing back to the Blundell Arms, the management need to get their act together very quickly otherwise they are going to loose a lot of business.
