One of the few lovely summer evenings we had experienced this year. We decided to visit the Blundell Arms to enjoy the lovely garden area and views. When we arrived with out 6 year old the outdoor seating area was full of smokers! We managed to find a table inside, although most were `reserved`. My husband went to the bar to get drinks and a children`s menu. We chose our meals and ordered, including a children`s meal. A member of staff walked past our table whilst collecting glasses. It was only when they came to lay the table about 20 minutes later that we were told we had to move, as we had a child with us. Had we been told this on arrival, we would have moved to another pub. We were moved to the `dungeon`, where children cannot be seen! How out of touch is this?
I haven`t come across this since I was a child and families were only allowed in the lean-to of a pub.

I also witnessed a few unprofessional exchanges between staff members. As for the food, not bad, but small portions. I have never seen such a small portion of mash potato!

The best thing this pub has is it`s location, but they have spoiled a once nice country pub.

Refused me the use of a phone to call a garage after my car broke down outside. Used to visit this pub fairly often but with customer service like that they can shove it, I've not stepped foot in it since!!!!!

Hmm, maybe they've gone down hill very rapidly from the other comments, but I was last there about 7 months ago and it was as good as it used to be when I lived in Bolton. It's a really cosy pub with good ales and good wines, the food certainly used to be fantastic, and the views across Greater Manchester out as far as Jodrell Bank and Mersyside on a clear day are awesome.

Bog standard reheated ready meals at restaurant prices. About 5 years ago Along with 40 friends I was asked to leave for singing Jerusalem on St Georges day even though we had booked a St Georges day party on a Tuesday pm and we were the only people in there and had spent about £1000. Never went back til 2 months ago at 12.30 Saturday lunch and there was no cask ale because apparently they clean the lines on Sat pm.Do me a favour!!!

They've jacked up the prices and cut down the portions;they're also knocking out very low cost 'specials' at ludicrous prices-plus an extra three quid on a bottle of wine.Went in last Saturdat;the place wasn't even 'half full'.....I wonder why?
