| Just as a little reply i am an employee of this particular lloyds bar and in its defense i would just like you to consider that, as a barmaid it is our job to ask for proof of age, challenge 21, this is to prevent underage drinking, let me remind you that if you have been found to serve someone under the legal age you can be subjected to a criminal record, upto £5000 fine and also the pub can be prosecuted, that is why we have a policy of challenge 21, if the customer does not look 21 they must provide proof of age, if there is 1 person in a group without valid proof, it is also our policy to ask the whole group to leave, and as a little footnote, when it has been busy for 3 hours straight and someone gets rude when they get asked for i.d, can we be blamed for being short back, bearing in mind we have probably had this same argument 500 times already in that time?? please consider this. anonymous - 9 May 2007 12:53 |
| I started to go out in this pub a few years ago as a student and over the past few years it has disintergrated not only in it's atmosphere (low lit and dull interior, accompied by the lower class of person, however that could simply be just a Hull thing) but also with the service provided by staff members (who seem to be low cost willing students, granted i was a student and sympathise with the struggle but it is beyond my comprehendsion when an obvious under trained or inexperienced staff member refuse to serve a whole group of people just because of of the proposed customer looking underage, granted my friend who was slightly rude but i mean ever so slighlty rude to the barmaid was then barred and then the entire group tarred with the same brush also been barred, I had a feeling this was a homophobic attack! what do other people feel about this bar? am I having a rant or do I have a point. I now work in a club part time, and feel this was totally unprovoked and very un professional. hehe better stop ranting but this was my first visit to hull in a very long time and was totally disgusted with Lloyds No1 Hull branch. Well worth a miss. hiddendepths21 - 20 May 2005 04:41 |
