| Pretty standard Newcastle juicer this, a cut above the normal Bigg market dross, worth nicking into for a sharpener if you're passing I guess. | Something about this pub ensures that I'm a regular whenever I visit Newcastle. Maybe it's the dark but somehow cheery atmosphere, maybe it's the beer or the cheap vodka, maybe it's the sense of humour (toilets named Fanny and Willy), or maybe it's the fact that women have outnumbered men by about 25 to one on some of my visits. | The pub is as dark as the name, however the beer is alright and the staff are friendly enough, considering 20 "cockney's" turned up mid afternoon on a Saturday. Worth a visit if you like to drink with characture bondr - 2 May 2005 17:19 |
