I think what Ch71s meant by his message in the brackets at the end was that you CAN'T get disapppinted by a Greene King pub.

I had written a comment on this but it seems to have disappeared! Anyway this is a favourite detour form my drive home from work. There are three reasons to visit this pub. The IPA, the bowl of cheesy chips and the welcome you get from the three legged cat! You wont be disappointed from a visit to this great Greene King pub. (but then can you be disappointed from visitng any Greene King pub I ask myself!)

I visit this pub very often and absolutely luv it here! Never had a bad experience with pint quality and the food is top notch. Perhaps a little pricey but always worth it, especially when hungry! Can be a bit busy at times but that just adds to the ethos of the place. Lovely building and never had a problem with parking if driving. The staff are always polite and friendly, and can say the same for the locals aswell. Great place!

This pub is local to me, so I visit it quite often.

The food is excellent, as the previous reviewer said. It has a nice 'village pub' feel, and very friendly staff. Sadly, the quality of the ale (Greene King IPA, Abbot and one other) varies been drinkable and awful - in spite of the 'Cask Marque' tag. I'm guessing that this is because none of the staff drink the stuff themselves. I'd love to write another review saying that this has much improved, and will do so if it does.

In summary, a great village pub if you want excellent food and a warm welcome - and you don't drink real ale.

Best food for miles around. I live in Ely, and I'd say that this place has better nosh than any pub in Cambridge too (can be a tad pricey, but decent portions).
