user reviews of Three Kings, Fornham All Saints

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

Went last night and the three beers were GK IPA, Speckled Hen and Brains Rev James. Had the Rev James which was fine (Several of them), not outstanding but OK. Also had a bottle Strong Suffolk which was enjoyable. Food was good value, decent size plate full and tastey enough - great selection for an out of the way pub. However the chef (Think he's the owner also) was far too full of his own self importance - loud, abraisive and obnoxious. Bar staff not the fastest but generally polite enough, when they got to you. The Landlord and somewhat vague bar staff hold the review score down.

Food is hearty pub grub - baguettes, chips, bangers and mash etc. and not too badly priced around the 6-8 mark.
A decent pint of IPA and there's usually a couple of other brews available in good nick as well - Old Speckled Hen and Batemans when I visited today.
Certainly recommended for a good value alcoholic lunch - pleasant atmosphere, attentive staff.

Having read the other comments on this site, I was a little aprehensive about my birthday meal i had arranged at The three Kings. However after having gone for it, I just couldn't have been happier. The food was excellent and I thought very reasonably priced. The ingredients were fresh and portion size very good... considering I do like to eat a lot! Atmosphere was both relaxing and lively , and the service really couldn't have been better. No unreasonable wait for food, they checked our table regularly to ensure we were happy and nothing seemed to much bother. Will definately be eating and drinking there again. Definately try it!

We went for an evening meal after play golf at a local hotel. Pub atmosphere and dcor was good. Beer was well kept Green King (expect this in Bury St. Edmunds). However evening was spoilt by our meals. 10oz rib eye steak medium rare was no bigger that a 6oz steak, burnt (well done) and without any bone. Chips appeared refried and peas we dried out. Other meal Beef Stroganoff was better but very small portion. Took look around at other meals and the chip and pea issue seem to be a general one. Pub was very popular so must get meal right sometimes. Overall the evening was a great letdown.
