| I hadn't been in this pub for about 5 years but was pleasantly surprised when I ventured in today. The staff were very pleasant and they had 5 cask beers on. It was very busy for a lunchtime but I was served very quickly and had 2 pints of Golden Sheep. I'd certainly pop back here again for a pint or two in the near future. | yes Toolster, this pub is now solely in the hands of Greene 'couldn't give a f*** about tenants' King, so the final nail in the coffin has been drilled home. RIP Happy Hour. 951951951 - 17 Nov 2009 21:25 |
| Has this place changed hands?(I knew something was up when I saw Korky in the Grapes).....NO MORE HAPPY HOURS!!!(the only redeeming feature about this palce of late)...and,to make things worse....a really bloody rude old gal behind the bar.........i get the feeling I won't be setting foot in here anymore. Another one bites the dust................. toolster - 15 Nov 2009 09:36 |
| Toolster, this pub hasn't gone 'down the pan'. It's a refelection of hundreds of other pubs in the country. The smoking ban, ridiculous rents, brewery costs, and a million and one other costs have driven it into the ground. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out why pubs are closing at such a rate. Don't blame the poor sod behind the bar, or the landlord. It's the breweries themselves who are driving away the real customers. Rant over. 951951951 - 13 Jun 2009 15:13 |
