I Searched online for dog friendly pubs and this one came up as an option. I rang to book a table for Sunday lunch (with a dog) and the service on the phone was very good. When we arrived the pub was full (no drinkers, just diners) and we ordered roast dinners (£9.95 each) and they were lovely (but not hot enough!). Great quality food, cooked well and plenty of it. My hubby said the real ale was very good and my dog appreciated the toys and water provided. A friendly member of staff also came over with doggie treats. In fact all the staff were friendly. The toilets were very cold though and in need of some minor repairs but were clean and well stocked. There was a big roaring fire and every table was either full or reserved. Definitely worth the visit and we'll be back. FoodieFad - 29 Jan 2012 19:19
Being part disabled I don't visit pubs that often. However, I called here recently for something to eat and waas allowed to bring my two black labs (and my wife!) in with me. I'm not a beer drinker, whisky is my tipple, so cannot comment on the beers though there was a large variety available. The food was super and moderately priced, the atmosphere was second to none - due to a well trained team led by a pleasant professional lady called Karen. Though I don't live in the area, I will certainly call again en passant and would commend the White Horse to anybody. This is what an English pub should be like. bernardrstevens - 4 Jul 2010 12:39
Had made the big mistake to go to the Land of Liberty in Heronsgate where the staff are so rude, i was recommended to go to the white horse for something to eat, lovely place very friendly and i would definatley go there again. butlins - 26 Mar 2009 22:07
We were taken here recently by our daughter to watch a live band.Good well served beer, food was also above average with generous portions too. Really enjoyed the band and the sound level wasn't a problem. Friendly staff, we'll be back! Myskolive - 5 Nov 2008 15:57
