I have been in the UK for 3 weeks and now en route back to South Africa I was booked in the Hilton T5. Saw this little pub on a walk and went in for dinner. What an awesome pub man, great food and everyone was very friendly. Highly recommended and thanks to jamie and others, was a great evening and will tell everyone I know that is coming via Heathrow to pop in for good food and at very good prices. The hotel I am staying in the food and drink is ridiculously expensive so this was a huge relief. Thanks for a great evening Judgie.

Don't look at any review pre November 2011 as they're no longer relevant. The new management has transformed the pub 100% - no TV, no Sky hooray. They have consistently served better cask ale than any other Colnbrook pub I've found in my 12-year search for a decent pub within walking distance (since Ron left the Olde George, anyway).
It's not perfect: needs a little work on not letting it go flat toward the end of the cask. But for now, at least I can pop in on the way home for a swift half and be fairly sure of not being disappointed. Food looks good too. A good start all round for the new management and worth a visit.

Well I have just settled down to wait for my flight at Heathrow Terminal 5 after having yet another great meal at Golden Cross. I must say the food was even better than the last time and shew what a saving compared to where I was staying. This is a great pub with outstanding food, homemade and you can taste it. love this pub will pop in on my way back through London. Guys if you at Heathrow The Golden Cross is where to head in Poyle Colnbrook.

I travel a lot for work and spend a lot of time in pubs and like to eat where I drink. I often stay at Heathrow either at the start of a trip or when I return or both sometimes depending on the time. I think I have been to most pubs and restaurants in the Heathrow area. I saw The Golden Cross actually from the Hoppa Bus on the way back to my car at the new Hilton and decided to walk upon and have a drink. I had been here years ago and it was a dive. Wow, what a chance, the pub is great and the food is really fantastic. Homemade, not the microwave rubbish most places tend to be serving, really great food and the prices are very good as well. I enjoyed dinner and returned for a full English breakfast, brilliant sausages, eggs perfect, the full Monty for just £7.50, I think it was, whatever it was delicious and a full plate. You can tell it is owner run and the staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. Great pub and fabulous restaurant I will be back if you are in the Heathrow Airport area try The Golden Cross.
