very near to the hotel i stay in so very handy to watch the football on the the 2 large screens. aslo good for a game of pool and a quiet pint on weekday afternoons, really nice food, little pricey on food and drinks even for blackpool and i do find some of the staff a little rude. longthorne - 3 Nov 2007 12:11
Contrary to what I have just read by a previous writer, a group of us mixed ages from 23 to 78 years of age spent a very pleasant evening in The Duke of York last Sunday. We found the Landlord and staff very helpful and welcoming. We had a game of Pool and Snooker, also later there was a quiz with prizes after which there was a Karaoke Evening. No budding Russal Watsons or Will Youngs but quite entertaining. Later the Comparer gave a short recital on the new Wurlitzer Organ very good. Looking forward to our next visit, when the Gentleman plays the Organ on Wednesday afternoons from 2 until 4pm quite a star really as when he is not at the Duke of York he plays at the Tower Ballroom. I would however agree with the writer in that the beer was very good, in particular the draght bitter. saxyal - 21 Sep 2006 17:11
Pub is fine, good beers bit pricey, Landlord is arguementative bstard though. Dont ruffle his feathers he is fond of barring people. Not me I hasten to add, witnessed him barring someone, for a very very minor offense. lfb_uk - 18 Feb 2006 15:17
