I have to update my previous review. wanted to eat here but everything we tried to order was off. Very disapointing.

I like this pub despite it being a little expensive. Lovely beers and quick service on my visit.

The only thing positive about this place is it's location. As several have mentioned before it has a reputation of unfriendly, even rude, staff and sky high prices. The last time I went there a bag of crisps was over £1. I told them politely to keep it and walked out. Never again until their attitude towards their customers changes.

Frighteningly expensive and frankly not worth it. Sunday lunctimes are always ruinied by some C-list jazz combo turning up at 2pm presumably in the strange belief the LSB is a music pub.

Fabulous location right by the canal and lock; very plesant interior with good verhanda and patio areas by the water - but - you will need to take your bank manager with you as the beer prices are well above the average and I think a bit of a rip-off. I was asked to pay £3.65 for Butcombe Bitter - a beer which I can easily get elsewhere for around £3.00 !! The gentleman who served may insisted the price reflected the quality of the pub and the beer! For that price I would have expected my personal waiter with free nibblies and a taxi home!!
