| Came here on the Thursday night to 'see' Alvin Elvis impersonator. Not been here for a few years & it used to be just London Pride - now they have another Fullers (ESB I think) & Butcombe. The beer was £3.50/pint perhaps because of the music although you had to pay £7 or so get into the side-room. Beer not impressive, felt a bit tired & I tried all three. The pub itself is fine so perhaps worth coming again for another tasting session. Booze_Allen - 7 Jul 2011 10:47 |
| Visited on a Thurday evening (music night), music loud but fun and varied. Darts match also going on, so place was quite busy Fullers pub and the London Pride was OK - £3.20 a pint Butcombe bitter also on but didn't try it. Overall a bit rough and ready, but if you can cope with that it's ok. If not cross the road to the Bricklayers or walk a 100-200m to the Broad Leys pick_e_tippler - 2 Jul 2011 12:08 |
| Went there for a while some time ago ...and it's not worth it!! Awful! It looks dirty, it's smelly. Carpet needs a bloody good clean.TV always on and blasting...and horrible tasteless music that is so loud u cant hear ur thoughts. Not what you would call a family friendly pub! dont think the landlords did a good job there. Avoid if you just want a quiet drink in a friendly pub. Blimeys - 10 Apr 2011 22:39 |
| Went in here a while ago as I have been passed it so many times without ever having been in. The beer is drinkable and the prices are okish, but the overall feel and atmosphere of the pub is not good; it felt very chavvy. When I went in it was the afternoon and it was fairly crowded. I would suggest that this is not the place to go if you want a quiet drink as it was quite rowdy and boistrous. On a better note the bar maid was very attentitive and helpfull. | A bit out of the town centre. Nice if you're passing by that way. I like the way the TVs are clearly visible but not intrusive so you can have a quiet drink if you want. Nice appearance inside as well as out with a 'local pub' feel to it. redboy - 6 Jun 2010 13:18 |
