Nice friendly pub with a proper landlord, entertainment most weekends. Look out for Ruby on a Saturday night she gets the pub rocking. gilberto - 23 Jul 2010 02:20
Very good roadhouse styled locals; lively mid-afternoon but friendly. Had Maldon Gold on but I had John Smiths Cask which had real flavour - worth its Beer Guide entry mtaylor40 - 23 Nov 2007 22:40
This is not a bad pub.Old fashion large bar pub with a large function room at the side.Four real ales on and although not one of my favourites, the Directors was first class.Seems about the only pub in Rainham that does real ale. apa - 9 Sep 2006 08:08
This is a fairly large pub, early 20th Century, with a fairly good range of well-kept beers and friendly staff and regulars. The customers are mostly locals, although there are a fair few rooms upstairs and quite a few workers (generally from Wales or the North) can be found there most of the time. The beer garden is quite large and is used for barbeques and fun days in the summer (not every week - generally Bank Holidays). Well worth a visit if you're in the area. Thoroughly recommended. But then I've been a customer for something like 23 years, so I could be biased... anonymous - 22 Mar 2006 14:43
used to drink in here quite regular , and it always seemed ok better than say the bell or the angel , the landlord looked a typical landlord , but he and his staff knew the drinks and all in all wasnt a bad boozer . recommended to all but advise watch out on saturday nights walking to the bus stop cause of all the little chavs who cant get served in the pheonix go to the angel (where i used to get served when i was 15) and they think they can fight the world after two stellas romfordir - 26 Dec 2005 12:39
