| Went with family (10 of us) for a meal. It took about an half an hour to get everything ordered as everytime the order was made at the bar they had run out of something. It would have been easier for staff to tell us what they had left. When food did arrive it was of poor quality. I had the spare ribs and they came out in a bowl, they were luke warm at best and not very tasty. One of the orders never came out at all and had to be asked for again, this resulted in the food arriving when everyone else had eaten. This is the second time that I have had an average meal in this premises and I will not be trying a third. LOB - 9 Jun 2008 09:36 |
| Have been a visitor to this pub on a number of occasions previously. I chose to take the parents there over the weekend, on the Saturday instead of Sunday to avoid the hustle bustle of the Mothers Day crowds. Unfortunately, from the off we were subjected to the ever increasing trend of parents letting their children out of control. In this case, in and out frequently through the restaurant, and out the rear door (next to our table) to the garden - often leaving it wide open allowing the March breeze in. This went on every few minutes, much to the annoyance of other customers too, until we asked if we could move to a table the other side, a few metres away. Meanwhile, the childrens parents just a few tables away oblivious to the situation. The waiting staff also had a habit of leaving the door wide open whilst collecting empties from the garden! Apart from a very well done steak instead of a medium - which went back and was replaced and taken off the bill, to their credit - the food was good. Prices have gone up a few pounds since my last visit and the average meal was about £10+. Good selection of beers and ales if you like that sort of thing. As this pub welcomes families, and this sort of problem seems on the increase I may or may not go back. I know for sure at least 2 other groups of people in the same sitting definitely won't. We made out concerns known to the manageress, who was quite understanding. Apparently they are going to look into it for a solution so we'll see... AlfGarnett - 3 Mar 2008 13:09 |
