My wife and I visited the lamb inn recently with some fellow walkers. Had a really lovely meal, a light portion of fish and chips. The batter was perfect. The staff were really friendly too, there was a girl working behind the bar who was very interested in the walk we had taken that day and made a few suggestions for future walks in the area. Was very refreshing to be served by someone so bubbly and warm, almost as refreshing as the Badger Beer! There was also a man who was very nice to us while we dithered over our order. We have been told by friends that live locally that the lamb is under new management and I have to say that it seems they are doing a very good job, had a really lovely visit. Will be returning for a different walk, and probably some directions!!!

Have visited The Lamb Inn a few times now under the new management and have always had really nice meals and been greeted with warm friendly smiles!

in reply to busymum............ the last people have gone to the Vine in Tarring, Worthing................ I found this out after speaking to a few locals..... the Lamb has gone in my estimations............. staff are not so friendly and the food POOR!!!!!!! they obviously dont have the same passion for food and it could be frozen I am not sure

We went to the Vine last night(Friday) and the service and food are still like we remembered at the Lamb and to see the landladys bubbly smiling face was most welcoming... well worth a drive it took us about 35mins from Chichester..

What a dissapointment!!!! Visited the Lamb yesturday (Sunday 3rd May) and was so embarrassed to have inflicted it on friends we had taken with us under our assurances that we always had a good meal there.
The bar area has lost its welcoming look and the welcome from behind the bar was even worse! Despite our inital findings we stayed for lunch and was yet again dissapointed. The worst by far was my sister in laws fish & chips (something we have always enjoyed in the past), I should think it was frozen and pre-battered as it tasted far from fresh. Am just so gutted that we have lost our favourite place to eat.
Have just read the review above and am surpised it is the same place, sounds very much like an advert!
Can anyone tell me where the previous owners have gone to? Will not be re visiting the Lamb again. Very sad.
