Just returned from a week in Weymouth and found this pub on the first night. Great Pint of Badgers Best Bitter for £2.50, for a 4% brew thats not bad and it was well kept. Nice touches on the bar FREE sweets for the Kids and FREE treats for the Dogs (Just help yourself). The pub is really three areas Upstairs Steak loft (no staff on the night we went) looks like you have to order at the bar yourself and get your own drinks. one end downstairs id a public bar area with pool table Juke box and where the live bands play on Fridays (gets very busy and music is loud). The other end downstairs is set for eating but you can sit and only drink if you want. large TV's showing music videos when I have been in but without sound. Some seating outside overlookig Harbour, only spoilt by the constant passing cars. late licence until midnight.

Nice setting, beers good if somewhat expensive. Didn't try the food.

Be careful, don't put your drink on the bar. If the customers don't pinch it then the bar staff must remove it............it's happened to me three times in the last two visits.

This place is suffering from a split personality. Upstairs is an haute cuisine steak house. Excellent food that can't be bettered. Not cheap, but you get your money's worrth, and then some. For that, top marks, but this web site is about pubs....
Downstairs thee's three decent badger ales on the pumps, but it's the sort of place where the pikeys attempt to out-scumbag the chavs whilst watching any of four huge TV screens. And the graffitti in the toilets..... oh dear!
I can't help but feel this place needs to choose which part of the market to aim for.

Top marks for this one! I haven't got a bad word to say about the place. A great selection of beers, spirits, coctails and shooters. Some of the live bands i've seen there have been phenomenal. "What would scooby do"....excellent. Mind you, if you're feeling your age, or just want a quiet drink, UNLUCKY!! ha ha ha.
