Died as a pub - Got turned into a Thai Restaurant
mycetes - 28 Sep 2008 20:37
Tudor Tavern RIP. The "furious buildings work" is over and suddenly we have a new restaurant: Thai Square. As others have remarked, there are 3 other Thai places within a minute's walk, so if there is a market to sustain all this oriental eating, only time will tell. Thai Square does have a bar at one end, but in no way can this building be considered a pub any more.

Furious buildings work is currently in progress. I guess the Tudor's days as a pub have already passed, but we shall soon find out!

I liked this pub it used to have a real buzz, I dont understand why anyone thinks we need another Thai restaurant (or indeed restaurant of any variety)in its place. Not impressed.

Yes it's closed. An application has gone in to turn it into a Thai restaurant. (Even though there are THREE other Thai places within 1 minute's walk!!!)
