| Dark and foreboding from the outside, variable service inside...not one for the ladies for sure. It could be worse though, there is a pub up the road called the Three Marines that we were actually too scared to go in! FLO - 5 Dec 2011 10:42 |
| HSB, as flat as a pancake worse I've ever had, will not go back littlecon - 1 Jul 2011 00:03 |
| Vile smelling place, Expensive, staff are common as muck as have a nasty attitude, customer service is very poor, alcohol is seen to be watered down, rough crowd / staff, Disgusting toilets, always people smoking indoors near the back entrance Jukebox is OK P0rtsmouth82 - 30 Mar 2011 08:27 |
| Caskforce appears to be correct in his summation - yes there is a proliferation of pasteurisation fans who seem content to quaff hideously-overpriced lager, but none were rowdy and there was enough of a broad mix of custom - male, female, young, old, on a Friday night to ensure this pub doesn't come across as a one-trick pony at the lower end of the social spectrum. Actually I had a rather splendid pint of Lancer in here, which I had to quaff in the perpendicular position as there was simply no seating left - but who can knock a busy pub? Fuller's seem to have the knack of hitting the right spot with the right people and despite the decidedly unaltered pricing strategy that is based on more affluent London examples, it seems to work. Would've been happy to remain for another, but as always, there were other fish in the sea and you have more to lose in this district by staying put than by venturing on and trying many other pubs on offer. | I see some comments say that is rough and not as good as it used to be. When i visited it was fine, yes full of lagerboys but not a hint of trouble. Ale wasnt great but the jukebox is one of the best i have come across. caskforce - 10 Feb 2011 17:43 |
