user reviews of Collyweston Slater, Collyweston

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I have eaten lunch several times here and it is always quiet. The food is of good standard and not too expensive. The decor is in keeping with the old nature of the pub - ie subdued pine, stone flags and comfortable chairs/sofas. It is an Everards pub and does have some good, well kept ales on tap. Accomodation is also available. Worth a stop before Stamford on the A43.

A lovely pub but you cannot drink there. Why you ask? Because it means driving and the Police are as hot as mustard on the A43. Pity! I like this place despite it's refurb.

Another village pub that has suffered at the hands of the refurbishers but despite those bloody leather sofas it's been done fairly sensitively, we're too far from London for the shaven head and retard's glasses brigade to become involved.

Anyway if you can stand all of that it's got a reputation for its food and the Everards is OK. One corner of it is still vaguely pubby. Not really worth calling for a drink, there's lots of better places for that than this, but it does make an excellent overnight if you're doing a long haul up the A1 - rooms aren't too bad, though pricey if you pay the rack rate, and the breakfast is excellent

We visited the Collyweston Slater after its recent "makeover" and it was lovely. The customer service was brilliant, staff were very friendly, the place was fairly quiet and chilled which was perfect for a sunday afternoon meal and the food was beautiful and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend it to anyone! Will definately be dining there again!
