Visited on Saturday midway through a walk with a few friends for lunch and a couple of pints,

Beer was very good
Food was very good
And the staff very helpful and friendly

To copy Hilary's quote 'Faultless'

Visited the Barley Mow later and what a contrast!

Myself and 6 friends had a wonderful walk on Sunday 1st August. Leaving our cars in the car park and having booked our lunch reservation we set off. The loos are always open even if the pub is not for convenience! Lovely. We arrived back to be met by the very welcoming landlady and her staff. Drinks order taken immediately and menus brought. The food was truly outstanding. We all had different dishes and it was faultless. The menu has something for everyone, but most importantly they have managed to get everything right. The price, the quality, and the welcoming. Please don't change anything. There is no competition in the area. Thank you,
Hilary

Two beers TEA and Andwell Gold Muddler which was decent. Looks a bit gastro, small bar inside but a very friendly welcome. Was invited to walk behind the bar to get to the large garden. Donkeys a feature. Well worth a visit.

Had a large party meeting for lunch - they were able to not only give us a table big enough, but served us all at the same time. The food is good, and Steak Mondays (10 for any steak with chips and vegetables) excellent value. Puddings are huge. Small but good selection of beers. Service friendly in the bar and the "restaurant".
