Friendly staff and pretty good food (Sunday Roast) the vegetarian nut roast was also rated highly by the 3 vegetarians in the group. There was (see other review) a smell of fried food / chip fat when we went in but it wasn't too bad. pgh - 7 Sep 2008 19:29
Were recommended to go but why I have yet to fathom. The locals seemed a happy bunch as did the numerous dogs. Felt like interlopers as we inched our way to a table with the regulars most put out as they made way for us. The bar person was positively surly. A pleasant but uninspiring lunch. Can't remember how good the beer was. A pub for locals - nothing wrong with that and a good thing - but some don't have a pub within walking distance. Perhaps we chose a bad day? hoppie - 15 Feb 2008 14:46

Good range of beers and nice staff but unfortunately pub smells of chip fat,we spent time having a few drinks but left smelling very strange I dont think the chip fat has been changed in the fryer in a while. Shame really otherwise good pub. housewifefav - 7 Apr 2007 21:16
