Where do i start ....decided to go there with my family for fathers day .Booked a table of 7 .After being seated we were given 2 menues between 7 ???.We orderded 3 breaded mushrooms for starter .I then asked for scampi and chips for my main , only to be told by the waitress..we are only serving roast dinner ,and we do not have any beef left ..so that meant it was only chicken & pork . The mushrooms arrivied in a ceral dish with the dip in the middle ,after taking a bite ,I had so spit it out the middle was still frozed ...was the same with the others .We told the waitress who just looked at us puzzled , we decided we were not gonna eat here ,the manager came over and we told here we were leaving ..HER ANSWER WAS YOU CANT YOUR MAINS ARE READY !!!! .WORST FOOD IVE TASTED ..STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE ...SERVES NOTHING BUT FROZEN FOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!! .IVE RATED THIS ZERO ,IF ONLY I COULD PUT A -0 ....

Haven't visited this pub for about 45 years so was pleasantly surprised by the changes that had taken place. Nice pub with good beer (Old Speckled Hen, Abbott) and great bar meals although you can also eat in the restaurant. Good location next to the river and far enough away from Tilbury proper to make it worth revisting.

Pleasant pub with friendly staff and regulars; decent Sunday lunch, lots of historical character, ordinary Greene King beers (no local beers). A short stroll from the excellent Fort.

Cycled here yesterday. Nice place and beer. I pity the poor budgie in the smoking area though!
