Popped in again late last night - probably the friendliest landlord in the area - the beer was excellent - a choice of London Pride, Spitfire, Sussex & Abbot Ale JohnandSue - 13 Apr 2008 21:00
Dull, dull, dull. I liked the look of this place but went in, looked for a nice pint of cider, turned on my heels and left! No decent ales either. Unimaginative pub with a towny feel goosegog - 28 Feb 2008 23:24
Me and my friends went there last night for a meal and all we could find wrong with the pub was the staff poor service. It took them over 20 mins to serve us, no smile nothing, we didn't even bother with pudding. Clearly the waitress on last night didn't know how to take a joke. The food however was lovely, slightly over portioned but good value for money. I'd go back for the food, not the service. lou_p - 21 Dec 2007 09:35
Very unfriendly place to vist. Staff are moody and misreable and it has a 'has been' feel to it. Straw mats, paper napkins and dirty wine glasses compliment the reasonable but over portioned food. We had a poor visit here yesterday and will not be returning in the near future. anonymous - 16 Nov 2007 08:44
| Have been visiting the star for about 4 years. Can't believe there would be a BNP meeting in this remote little village - very strange venue - also strange that virtually same comments left about another local pub. Don't believe that comment at all. The manager of the star is hospitable and accomdating. Friendly atmosphere, FANTASTIC food at good prices. Always busy !!!! Definately my number 1 pub !
