Found the pub by a happy accident, a great welcome and a lovely atmosphere, the landlord and lady are a delight as are the staff and the food looked fab, all in all a great local pub with great beers food, and wine and real log fires! Go and enjoy, we will again and again. PS. as pet lovers dogs are welcome farrow - 23 Jan 2010 17:15
Wonderful pub with a beautiful feel and warm ambience. The food is well above what you would expect from your average pub and the Fish is a must. Good food is not cheap and although the prices are competitive please remember that food of this quality needs a good chef and quality ingredients. You get what you pay for and this is worth it! The service is friendly and prompt and the beer spot on. Bottom line if you like a good British pub with good booze and quality food check this place out. I love my football but what a pleasure to find a pub without that hideous Sky Sports banner outside. This is a pub for pub people......Enjoy. mikewinter2 - 22 Dec 2009 18:31

Great pub with friendly atmosphere, great beer, a roaring log fire and best of all they welcomed my golden retrievor (in fact she got a biscuit before I got my pint). It has great outdoor space for the summer and after one visit we knew all the names of the owners and bar staff and have made it our business to visit at least once a week. mx51v - 12 Mar 2008 23:21
The Cock continues to maintain a high standard of excellence; it's by some margin the best pub I know in the immediate vicinity of Maidstone. The Young's beer remains superb; to my taste it's sometimes on the cold side during the summer months, but I've very rarely had a pint that wasn't in immaculate condition. The service is efficient and friendly; it's great, in a pub like this, to find the landlord/landlady (and often both) so often behind the bar. Absolutely first rate. earlydrinker - 5 Aug 2007 18:42
