user reviews of the Garibaldi, Bourne End

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

This pub has improved recently. Good range of ales, and a landlord that seems to be interested in them. The food blackboards look good too.

One of the better pubs in Bourne End.

This place used to be rubbish, dirty and smelly but had a minor refit and got a very good landlord in the aforesaid Irishman, and became an excellent local. Sadly he has now moved on, but the standards haven't slipped far

A 6/10. Not bad for Bourne End which really needs a decent pub

Open plan, turn of the century pub featuring well kept Adnams and Abbot Ale. Relaxed atmosphere encouraged by the welcoming landlord who pours a mean guinness (a Dublin man). Open log fire and various freshly cooked evening meals are available. I have often been sustained by the excellent roast beef baguette, but ask them to go easy on the horseradish. Various literary and historical quotes will keep you amused in the Gents (if needed) whilst the locals will be happy to engage you on any topic you like at the bijou bar. A great local in a village that sorely needs a pub of character and genuine bonhomie.
