I'll use basic as the word "rough" has been used already a few times! Went in to tick the box whilst waiting for a bus. It seemed that the colourful language was cranked up in volume and frequency when they spotted I had my wife with me. This settled down to a dull roar when they saw she was not intimidated. Not a problem being a teacher of the young and immature!

Beer was good though!

I wouldn't necassarily use the word "rough" but I can see how you could easily be intimidated by the rather loud locals in here!

An interesting 2 room pub serving Okells Bitter, Bushy's Castletown and a guest from £2.45. Pool table.

Bit suprised by the last comment. Didn't give me the impression of being a rough pub, and it was OK when we were there last week. I got the impression that it was a friendly back street boozer. Enjoyed the Okells Mild before catching the bus from the nearby bus stands in Lord Street.

Real ales pretty good and that's it really. It's a rough pub, 2 bars, one very rough the other just rough. Did I mention this was a rough pub?

Popped in for a pint of Okells Bitter.
Nice pint well kept.
This pub is somewhat off putting from the outside but very much a traditional "man's" drinking pub inside.
Close to the quay and ferry port.
No food available but the manager did say we could bring in a sandwich to eat if we wished.
Locals friendly and helpful in pointing out other locations on the island to find a good pint.
If you like the old style drinking pub then stop in for a pint.
