The Angel's recently had a lick of paint and the toilets have now got a suit of armour. But it's still the same old Angel. It's now got 3 plasma tellys and you can get a tasty toasty too. One thing I did notice yesterday though was that you now only get 4 songs for your quid on the jukebox!! Robbing bastards(!) New pool table and it's got its music licence back on a thursday night too!! Still my favourite pub in the whole wide world though! User4 - 15 Feb 2008 19:06

I first visited the Angel when I was 15, and was delighted to find on my last visit before Christmas that this pub had not changed in any way! Still got the best jukebox in Durham and one of the very few beer gardens in the City Centre. Not a session pub, but good for a cheeky drop of scotch before heading to the Colpitts. fairport79 - 14 Feb 2007 22:01

A great little pub of its type with the best juke box in Durham. Very reasonable both for drinks and music. O.K. it is a bit different and it has no real ale (Paul, I know you’ve explained why) but it has a good choice of drinks and it is really friendly despite the scary appearance of some of the regulars. I've been in, in my suit, loads of times and had no trouble at all. It is well worth a visit even if just to sample the uniqueness of the place. rds10 - 28 Dec 2006 23:16
