Would have stopped here but there isn't a beer garden on a sunny day. More of a Winter Pub.

Reopened on the High Street by Stonegate, who did an excellent job on the tasteful refurbishment of this historic establishment.

It isn't that often I walk into a pub then decided to leave after 2 minutes. Quite clearly the woman working here ignored me as I politely said Good Day and was blanked. There wasn't even many people at the bar on a Saturday afternoon near Christmas. I believe someone else was also wanting a drink and being ignored. Certainly poor service, and it happened months ago when eating a meal here, sorry I cannot forgive this pub for at least 3 months! 0/10 for now!.

Visited here the other day and it was being refurbished. Nothing interesting about a pub being refurbished unless it will eventually be better.

Lovely historic pub with great character. Several interesting ales on, both local and from further away. Unfortunately none of the tables suit groups of more than four persons.
