Pride was off but Doom Bar was decent. Food was limited but tasted reasonable. Sitting space was limited but found a reasonable sitting space which was unfortantely too close to other tables to make it relaxing. They'll try and put as many seats as possible in to get as many customers to spend money as they can. NoDisgrace - 12 Dec 2011 19:44
An excellent high street pub which seems to get the balance of food/beer about right. Ales on offer were London Pride, Banks Bitter, Timothy Taylor Landlord, Hogs Back RIP, Doom Bar and Jennings Cumberland. All beers were well kept, dispensed and really reasonable for a Guildford pub. The Banks was £2.55 a pint - prices from at least 6 years ago. No pint was over £3. The barman was extremely knowledgable on the subject of ale and was telling me he's hoping to get another ale on, maybe from the Surrey Hills range. They support both local and national brewers. I'm absolutely staggered there more than one complaint on here about the price of beer. Yes Spoons is cheaper if you can stomach badly kept, dispensed short date beer. Easily the best ale pub in Guildford. The menu looked varied and reasonable but as I didnt dine I cant comment. Would make an excellent stop on a shopping trip! Worth a visit. pdub - 5 Nov 2011 17:21
I recently enjoyed eating the Ham, Egg and Chips here. Simple, but that is what I like. The pint of London Pride was also very good. NoDisgrace - 4 Nov 2011 19:54
An okay sort of pub in a very nice building. Five or six real ales on offer on Monday. I thought the prices were reasonable. If anyone thinks £2.70 for a pint of Hobgoblin is overpriced they really should get out more often. philanders - 19 Oct 2011 07:23
Has potential to be very good - however they were out of most of the food on visit and are supposed to be updating menu soon. Ales are London Pride and Doom Bar. NoDisgrace - 9 Oct 2011 18:16
