This pub is completely out of place. It should be moved from its canalside location to one of those vast housing estates where quality of beer and food are of no interest to its locals.

London Pride is most dependable beer, usually. Pretty grim modern place, on a main road - don't be fooled by the canalside address and setting, it's not not used much by boaters and they feel unwelcome, on the whole. More karaoke and carvery than real ale and country pub. Quiz nights rather then good quaffing ales. It's not much used by locals, and can be pretty empty when there isn't an 'attraction' on in the evening.

Food mediocre, but said to be improving. Some no-smoking areas. On plus side, very spacious, lots of car parking.

Used to be called The Gongoozler, which was a much more interesting name - it was a term coined in the early 1900s for someone who 'idly contemplates canals'. You'd have to stand on tiptoe on the kids' climbing frame to see the canal, though - what you actually look out on is the marina.

Sorry, on balance, I can't recommend this.
