Been using the Blue Anchor as my local for over a year, there is a quiz night every Tuesday evening, karaoki Friday and Sunday,Disco every Saturday,DJ very good caters for everyone, great atmosphere,Sunday roast every Sunday very reasonable price and from Monday 26th July there will be a carvery Monday to Friday. There is a newly constructed beer garden, smoking area with rain cover, good selection of wines, beers and spirits. This pub caters for everyone! gladiator - 23 Jul 2010 12:50
Latest Review On The Blue Anchor 5/4/2009 New Owners, New atmosphere, New lease of life. New owners, Ronnie and Lynette Turner took over the pub about 6 monthe ago and promised to revive it to its former glory. Well they have done, Not since the days of Gary and Sue has this place seen atmosphere and crowds like it has now. Not uncomfortably packed but enough people to create a good night. Mark the DJ entertains the customers with music for all and gets everyone dancing. Some even on the widow ledge. Good beer, good atmosphere, great hosts with lots of time for their guests. Not to forget the food. Great food at great prices. From breakfast through to evening meal. Always hot (except the salads) and always tasty. Keep up the good work Guys. arty21 - 5 Apr 2010 18:28
Popped in of a lunchtime last week. Normally, I'm pretty verbose in reviewing. But this place is not very nice at all. I shall leave it at that. barlick - 20 Nov 2009 13:55
Three of us wandering around Hoylake bumped into a friend who told us that this establishment had just changed hands in the past few weeks and he was not impressed. He works only a few yards from the Anchor but we met him, by chance, in the Ship. We sent in a scout at the Anchor and he was out in quick time reporting that there were no real ales on. It may improve an if so I will report back. doj - 9 Sep 2009 23:20
i believe the pub has really improved over the last year. the new licensees have been there for over a year now and have really cleaned the place up. it has all been redecorated and the food is really good. the beer is also fine and not as expensive as a lot of hoylake is. i also hear the front of the pub is going to all done up for the summer and the non smoking ban. anonymous - 29 Apr 2007 12:35
